Indonesian Army Task Force Continues Church Rehabilitation Efforts in Alor Through Bhakti TNI AD Program
ALOR, East Nusa Tenggara — The Indonesian Army's Bhakti TNI AD untuk Rakyat (Army Service for the People) program in Alor Regency continues to deliver tangible benefits to the community. On Thursday (June 18, 2026), Indonesian Army personnel assigned to the Bhakti TNI AD untuk Rakyat Task Force carried out plastering work on the pastoral room building at Imanuel Church in Nurbenlelang Village, Alor Tengah Utara District, Alor Regency.
The activity was part of a worship facility rehabilitation program implemented jointly by the Indonesian Army and local residents. The plastering work was undertaken to continue the construction of a room at the rear section of the church, directly connected to the main building, which will later function as a pastoral room.
Also present during the activity was the Operations Officer of Kodim 1622/Alor, First Lieutenant (Inf.) Matias Modom, who serves as the coordinator for the rehabilitation of uninhabitable houses, mosque rehabilitation, and church rehabilitation programs. The activity involved 15 Indonesian Army personnel from the Bhakti TNI AD untuk Rakyat Task Force, construction workers, and the Village Supervisory Non-Commissioned Officer (Babinsa) of Nurbenlelang Village, Sergeant Habel Djahamou.
Through their direct involvement in the field, the task force personnel, together with the workers, continue striving to accelerate the construction process so that the church's supporting facilities can soon be utilized by the congregation. The presence of the Indonesian Army in this activity reflects its concrete support for the development of religious facilities while further strengthening the bond between the TNI and the people.
Commander of Kodim 1622/Alor, Lieutenant Colonel Czi Arya Dharma, S.T., stated that the church rehabilitation project demonstrates the Indonesian Army's commitment to assisting the community.
"This church rehabilitation activity is a manifestation of the Indonesian Army's commitment to serving the community. We believe that through the spirit of mutual cooperation between the TNI and local residents, we can restore this place of worship while strengthening solidarity within the community. We hope this church will once again become a strong center of faith and a source of hope for the entire congregation," said the Commander.
